Woodpeckers come in many colours combinations, but fascinating to see and wonder about the brain in the small scull. Banging away at the trees, mainly to loosen the bark to find small grubs and insects behind. When you hear fast hollow banging this is a sign of the male attracting a female. But one thing to try ! When you see and hear a woodpecker in a tree, put you ear to the tree trunk and listen. Trust me you will find it amazing.... (I did it)
